Synopsis of Minutes

Present: Gloria Malinoski, Chairperson; Jeff Weafer, Vice-Chairperson; Amanda Starosta; Nancy Kirk; Dustin Hall; Robert Volk; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Chelsea Krentz; Denny Huyghebaert, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

Council was advised two complaints have been received since the last meeting of council.  One has already been resolved successfully and a preliminary evaluation is underway on the second complaint.  There are three investigation committees currently looking into previous complaints.  Thirty compliance reviews have been conducted to date.

Council was advised a new owners license was issued to All Nations Funeral & Cremation Services, in Prince Albert.

Council was also advised that survey has been sent out to owners, licensees and interns in preparation for the strategic planning review.

A motion was passed to approve the March and April 2019 revenue and expense reports as presented.

Council was advised revisions are being made to the council website and they will be reviewed by the communication committee at a forthcoming meeting.

A motion was passed to approve the job descriptions and salary grid for the registrar and staff as presented by the human resources committee.

A further motion was passed to approve the committees of council as presented, and finally a motion was passed to appoint Shannon Leson, EFDS 468, to the investigation standing committee.

The next meeting of council will be held on September 12, 2019.
