Synopsis of Minutes

The Registrar advised a Discipline Committee was convened on January 16, 2019 in relation to Council file 2018-09. The committee’s order is now posted on council’s website.
Two complaints have been received in 2019 and one complaint is being referred to an investigation committee. Four compliance reviews have been conducted in 2019.
A non-unanimous motion was passed to issue Curtis Monkman an embalmer/funeral director/salesperson license. A further non-unanimous motion was passed to grant an owner’s license with conditions to Curtis Monkman upon application.
Council was advised a new owner’s license has been issued to Swift Current Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc.
A motion was passed to accept the recommendations of the Legislative & Governance Committee to revise Governance CG-3 and Policy 2009-12.
A further motion was passed to accept the recommendation of the Legislative & Governance Committee for revision to bylaw 2060 1(e) Certification Procedures – Student Crematorium Technicians.
Motions were passed to accept the Revenue and Expense Reports for November 2018 and to approve the 2019 budget as presented.
Further motion was passed to accept the Communications Committee recommendation to investigate the feasibility and logistics of launching a Facebook page.
A motion was passed to deny a licensee’s appeal for a waiver of late fees.
Next meeting of Council will be held on February 28, 2019.
