Synopsis of Minutes
Present via teleconference and/or Zoom: Jeff Weafer, Chairperson; Amanda Starosta, Vice-Chairperson; Chelsea Krentz; Don Sheppard; Dustin Hall; Gay Patrick; Nancy Kirk; Robert Volk; Scott Moffat; Shannon Leson; Sandy Mahon, Registrar; Denny Huyghebaert, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services

Council was advised that there have been no complaints received since the last meeting of Council. Thirty-seven virtual compliance reviews have been conducted to date in 2021.
Council was advised of the 2020 Death Statistics:
- 10,020 Deaths – an increase of 7.7% from 2019
- Burial – 3145
- Cremation – 6873
- Other – 2
- Cremation rate – 69% – (2019 – 67%)
A motion was passed to accept the bylaw revisions as presented by the Legislative & Governance Committee:
- Bylaw 2011 – License Expiration; and
- Bylaw 2014 – Professional Development
A further motion was passed to accept the Audit/Finance Committee report as presented.
The next meeting of Council will be held on April 22nd, 2021.
